Acoustic Emissions of Handwriting
Speaker: Andrew Seniuk and Dorothea Blostein
Handwriting and speech recognition are problems with a long history.
However, no studies have considered the sounds produced by handwriting, an
information source which has connections to both of the aforementioned.
This presentation will summarise our work in pen acoustic emissions,
including demonstrations, early results on recognition of cursive
handwritten characters, other possible applications, and some additional
hypotheses for discussion.
